AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE - ANIMAL BIOLOGY

On Friday 12 August, we had a special lesson involving the study and dissection of small animals, down in old room four.
A huge thank you to Mr Marty Walshe, our local vet, who taught our year eight students a very interesting, fascinating session studying small mammal anatomy and physiology, using rabbits and lambs.  We learned how to dissect to learn about all the body systems, such as skeletal, looking at bones, muscles and tendons, circulatory, involving the heart and blood vessels, including veins, arteries and capillaries, and the digestive system, including the oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestines.
Wow, Mr Walshe is an awesome teacher, and we learned so much!  We want to thank him very much for the time, effort and care he put into our lesson.  Also, a big thank you to Mrs Taylor, who organises all our ag science lessons and field trips, and assisted Mr Walshe with this biology session.
Here are some pix of the session, taken by Mr Lewis.
